Insurtech Blink has agreed a deal with travel insurance provide TuGo that will expand its presence in Canada.

Blink, part of CPPGroup, will support the insurer in developing a tailor-made solution for its customers with the roll out of MyFlyt.

This is the third significant deal for Blink in Canada, following partnerships with Manulife and Blue Cross. As a result of the deals, Blink’s global customer base has increase by around 250,000.

Blink aims to give TuGo real-time remediation capabilities as MyFlyt monitors customers’ flights and enables instant communication with customers. TuGo customers registered with MyFlyt have access to several options to ease the stress of a delayed flight, such as lounge access or cash payouts.

Blink joined hands with Canadian insurer Manulife in August 2019 to provide flight disruption insurance services to its clients.

Blink, which was launched in 2016, has teamed up with various insurers across the world to provide flight disruption solutions across North America, Asia and Europe.

In order to make a claim, the passengers neither have to submit proof that the disruption took place nor have to fill insurance claim forms or submit receipts.

The insurtech firm said that the passengers availing its travel insurance plan can get complimentary airport lounge access, hotel booking options and instant payment when the flight is late by over three hours.
