The US Department of Labor (DOL) has awarded Acuity Systems the contract to develop an integrated cloud-based case management, analytics, and business process management solution.

The solution will be used to manage and administer workers’ compensation and disability programme for workers and dependants by the Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs (OWCP).

The OWCP Workers’ Compensation System (OWCS) will be an unified platform-as-a-service that modernises four disparate workers’ compensation systems.

It will help the DOL to streamline the review, distribution, and administration of wage replacement benefits, medical treatment, vocational rehabilitation and other benefits to workers.

To deliver the OWCS based on flexible, scalable architectures, modular design, Acuity will leverage agile best practices and a DevSecOps delivery model.

Acuity CEO Paul Shulman said: “Acuity is excited to leverage our expertise in delivering transformative IT solutions to support OWCP in delivering critical benefits and support to injured American workers and their dependants.

The Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs administers four major disability compensation programmes.

The programmes provide wage replacement benefits, medical treatment, vocational rehabilitation, and other benefits to certain workers or their dependants who experience work-related injury or occupational disease.
