Short-term visitors to Singapore can now reportedly avail a COVID-19 insurance cover called “ChangiAssure” in the event of contracting the virus during their stay there.

Visitors can purchase the new product upon or prior to arriving in the city-state.

The product is underwritten by HL Assurance and distributed by Changi Travel Services, which is part of the Changi Airport Group, reported The Business Times.

Visitors can up to S$100,000 in hospitalisation cover with the new proposition, with eligibility age ranging between 3-70 years.

ChangiAssure includes the basic plan that offers up to S$8,000 in hospitalisation or quarantine costs. It also offers the superior plan, which increases the previous benefit to SG$100,000 while adding S$100,000 in accident cover as well as S$200,000 for death and disability cover, according to the report.

At present, people from Brunei, China, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea can visit Singapore for essential and business travel while people from Australia (excluding Victoria), New Zealand, and Vietnam who have applied for an Air Travel Pass can go to Singapore for general travel.
