John Hancock, the US division of Toronto-based Manulife, has inked a strategic collaboration with Amazon to ensure the health and wellbeing of its life insurance customers.

Under the tie-up, John Hancock integrated with Amazon Halo, Amazon’s latest initiative in the health and wellness arena.

The Amazon Halo service is said to include a mobile app that offers insights into traditional metrics along with tools and features to encourage healthier habits in users.

Amazon Halo Band, a wearable health and wellness device, is designed to measure activities such as heart rate, sleep, and voice tone to offer insights on the user’s health within the Halo app.

All John Hancock Vitality customers will be able to link the Amazon Halo Band with their vitality accounts to earn points for the daily steps they make for a healthier life.

Those who obtain the highest levels of Vitality engagement will be offered Amazon Prime membership while others can earn Amazon gift cards through the programme.
