UK-based Aviva and Prestige Underwriting Services have signed a new five-year distribution deal including the non-standard motor and van insurance for personal lines customers.

Under the new partnership, Aviva will underwrite cover for non-standard motor and van risks throughout the UK.

Prestige Underwriting’s network of 600 brokers and affinity partners will be distributing the cover.

The new agreement is valid until 2026, which builds on their existing partnership in which Aviva underwrites motor and non-standard home policies for Prestige Underwriting.

Aviva distribution director David Skinn said: “We are delighted to extend our relationship with Prestige Underwriting on the back of our already successful partnership for motor and non-standard home cover.

“This is a great opportunity to further expand our underwriting footprint in the non-standard motor market and continue to drive growth through our personal lines business.”

Prestige Underwriting managing director Alison Williams said: “We are absolutely delighted to build on the successes we have achieved together to date and to expand our trading footprint in non-standard motor and van risks in partnership with Aviva.

“We are fully committed to growing our business by continuing to deliver niche solutions to our valued network of brokers and partners as we embark on our extended and expanded partnership with Aviva, the UK’s leading insurer.”

In a separate development last month, Aviva pulled the plug on its Italian operations after concluding the sale of its life insurance businesses.
