Canada’s insurance industry registered an 8.9% rise in IT hiring activity in November 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 0.6% in November 2021 when compared with October 2021.
Out of the insurance industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 11.21% share in November 2021, recording an increase of 1.32% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Canada’s insurance industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100.84% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s insurance industry in November 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 40.17% in November 2021, registering a 1.03% decline over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 34.31% share, an increase of 60.78% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 12.97%, registering a 24% rise from October 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 9.62%, down 4.17% over the previous month.
Top five insurance companies in Canada’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 37.7% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s insurance industry during November 2021 over October 2021.
Economical Mutual Insurance posted 69 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a rise of 146.43% over the previous month, followed by Intact Financial with 37 jobs and an 8.82% growth. Sun Life Financial with 30 IT jobs and Power Financial with 18 jobs, recorded a 15.38% growth and an 18.18% decrease, respectively, while Great-West Lifeco recorded an increase of 16.67% with 14 job postings during November 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.13%, up by 19.72% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 16.32% share, registered a decline of 4.88% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 12.13% share, up 45% over October 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.42%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
