Jensten Group, a UK-based insurance broking and underwriting business, has announced the purchase of Chris Knott Insurance Consultants.

Chris Knott Insurance offers both personal and commercial lines solutions.

It provides a niche motor scheme, specialising in classic cars and owners club vehicles.

The company also has expertise in providing clients with specialised solutions for photographers, small charities, allotments and dog-related activities.

This acquisition, pending regulatory approval, will add 19 employees and an office in Hastings. It will also bring another £6.1m in GWP to Jensten.

Following integration, the schemes-based niche personal lines business will report to Jensten managing director for personal lines Karl Scott.

The commercial lines business will be incorporated into the London and South East region, overseen by regional managing director David Skinner.

This move is part of Jensten’s regional expansion across the UK, aimed at bolstering its local presence and enhancing client services in the London and South East region.

Jensten retail managing director Rob Organ said: “The acquisition of Chris Knott Insurance Consultants represents a significant step forward in our strategic efforts to strengthen our presence in the London and South East region.

“This acquisition not only enhances the scale and reach of our commercial lines division but, by integrating Chris Knott’s expertise in classic cars and owners club vehicles, also enriches our portfolio with new unique scheme and niche personal lines capabilities.”

Chris Knott Insurance Consultants managing director Neil Franklin said: “Joining Jensten will enable us to leverage the resources and reach the business has built, allowing us to provide an even better service to our clients.”

Chris Knott Insurance’s acquisition follows Jensten’s purchase of specialist broker Berns Brett last year.

Recently, Jensten completed the acquisitions of Melville Burbage and Henry Seymour & Co.

Melville Burbage provides commercial broking solutions to more than 5,000 businesses and individuals, while Henry Seymour & Co, operating under the Salon Gold brand, serves the hair and beauty insurance market, catering to salons, clinics, gyms, spas and mobile or freelance therapists.

Last month, Jensten unveiled a restructuring plan to support growth and optimise the integration of its acquired entities.
