The Health Innovation Center will focus on developing health and life service solutions such as the symptom checker. The team will also introduce a global video consultation platform.

The Assistance and Open Innovation Center will be responsible for working on digital risks and smart home service, among others.

The centre will also carry out pilots in areas including artificial intelligence, chat, voicebots as well as blockchain.

Concurrently, the team launched a pilot of a mobile payment and loyalty solution dubbed Allianz Prime earlier this year. The offering is said to be the first of its type in the insurance sector.

Allianz Partners chief market and digital officer Dan Assouline said: “In an environment where the insurance market is constantly being challenged by technological evolutions and revolutions, Allianz Partners, thanks to its unique combination of insurance, service and technology, is further strengthening its commitment and capacity to innovate.”

The latest move follows the establishment of the firm’s Automotive Innovation Center in 2014.

The centre collaborates with automotive manufacturers on a host of strategic topics including connected cars, e-mobility, autonomous driving and shared mobility.
