Air France has teamed up with Allianz Travel to launch a new insurance that will compensate customers in case of flight delays.

Under the new insurance programme, a customer will get €50 on flight delays of more than two hours.

This can be received without filing claims or offering receipts, the carrier noted.

Customers can get the repayment within five days.

For getting the payment, they need to click on a link and enter their booking reference and bank data.

The link is automatically provided via SMS and email to a customer on flight delays of over two hours.

Commenting on the new offering, Allianz Partners France CEO Noël Ghanimé said: “This insurance constitutes a real asset for the end customer as we are meeting their expectations proactively.

“This innovation is the result of a genuine co-creation between Air France teams and our own. Initial feedback from beneficiary customers has been excellent.”

The offer is valid for all Air France flights, whether outbound or inbound.

For eligibility, travellers have to book a ticket at www.airfrance.fr and take out Allianz Travel insurance.

Air France-KLM, EVP of commercial, sales and alliances Patrick Alexandre said: “With proactive insurance, we offer the customer an even simpler trip with minimum stress, notably in the event of travel delays.

“Customer satisfaction remains at the heart of our commercial strategy.”
