August 2021 has seen a decrease of 6.37% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 10.62% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2021, registering a decrease of 0.48% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 57.69% in August 2021, a 21.05% drop over the previous month. Computer Support Specialists came in next, claiming a share of 15.38% in August 2021, marking a 100% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 9.62% in August 2021, a 25% rise from July 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 10.71% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s insurance industry during August 2021 over previous month.
AIA Group posted 19 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a decline of 52.5% over the previous month, followed by Porto Seguro with 12 jobs and a 300% growth. Willis Towers Watson with 9 IT jobs and Swiss Re with 5 jobs, recorded a 25% drop and a 400% rise, respectively, while Samsung Life Insurance recorded a flat growth with 5 job postings during August 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s insurance industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s insurance industry IT hiring activity with a 42.31% share in August 2021, a 340% increase over July 2021. Anguilla featured next with a 36.54% share, down 52.5% over the previous month. Peru recorded a 15.38% share, a drop of 33.33% compared with July 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 82.69%, down by 2.27% from July 2021. Entry Level positions with a 9.62% share, registered a growth of 25% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 7.69% share, down 71.43% over July 2021.
