Friends Life and Virgin Money have launched the first in their range of life Insurance products. The products will be available through Virgin Money and will be underwritten by Friends Life.
Among the features of the new products, life cover starts from £8 ($12.4) a month with a cash lump sum of up to £500,000 available.
Virgin Life Insurance will also give policy holders access to Best Doctors, which is an expert second medical opinion service, and a 24-hour Bupa healthline2 which is staffed by experienced nurses.

Colin Williams, managing director of workplace and intermediated at Friends Life, said Virgin Money is a "fantastic brand" for Friends Life to work with.
Williams said: "Hopefully together we can help more people to see the benefit of life insurance. Most of us don’t like thinking about the worst happening, but having a life insurance product can ensure that if it does, you can leave something behind that will really help your loved ones."
