The Roberts Agency has been operating for more than six decades and works with clients across Connecticut.

It serves home builders, trade contractors, general contractors and other construction businesses, alongside offering surety bond services.

The agency offers commercial cover, speciality cover, employee benefits and homebuilder programme products.

Roberts Agency owners Jennifer Semple and Laura Langan said: “Our agency has always focused on helping clients protect their operations, their businesses and their people with thoughtful guidance and responsive service.

“Joining King Risk Partners gives us access to additional resources and expanded capabilities while allowing us to continue delivering the personal attention and collaborative approach our clients value. We are excited for this next chapter and the opportunities it creates for our clients and team.”

King Risk Partners said the deal adds to its presence in the north-eastern US and extends its reach to businesses, contractors, individuals and families in Connecticut and nearby markets.

King Risk Partners CEO Scott Popilek said: “The Roberts Agency has earned a strong reputation by combining deep industry knowledge with a highly personal approach to client service.

“Their specialisation in construction insurance and surety bonding brings meaningful depth to our platform, while their employee benefits capabilities further enhance the solutions we can deliver to employers and individuals across Connecticut.”

In April last year, Lightyear Capital invested in King Risk Partners. Existing shareholder BHMS Investments also took part in the investment.
