Vave will join Acrisure Underwriting, Acrisure’s MGA platform in the US insurance market.

The business will continue to trade under the Vave name and retain its current leadership team, led by founder Marek Shafer.

Shafer said: “Under Acrisure’s ownership, we expect to continue expanding our capacity relationships, product offerings, and technology capabilities, starting with our new product for California property owners.”

Canopius, a speciality and property and casualty (re)insurer, will continue to provide capacity to Vave under a multi-year arrangement.

In December 2025, Acrisure agreed to acquire Vave from Canopius.

Vave underwrites catastrophe-exposed excess and surplus (E&S) property risks in the US and uses technology-led and data-driven workflows.

The company says that, through its application programming interfaces (APIs), it generates more than 10,000 quotes each day across commercial, homeowners, flood and earthquake lines, supporting real-time binding and servicing for distribution partners.

The MGA recently introduced a California-specific offering for residential and commercial property owners and plans to roll out a commercial package product aimed at catastrophe-exposed regions.

Vave has teams in London and the US, with distribution handled exclusively through a network of US wholesalers.

Under the completed transaction, it will integrate into Acrisure Underwriting while keeping its operating model and existing partnerships.

Acrisure North America Insurance president Matt Schweinzger added: “We look forward to working with the Vave team starting today to continue expanding their technology-enabled products to serve families and small businesses in disaster-prone areas.

“Vave’s recent expansion into California property risks directly benefits the people of California and Vave’s network of distribution partners.”
