Re/insurance major Willis Towers Watson (WTW) has named David Ripton as head of broking, Global Marine in its corporate risk and broking (CRB) unit.

Prior to the new role, Ripton was working with Marsh as CEO for Marine UK since 2014.

Ripton has more than 30 years of Marine insurance experience in the global London marketplace.

In his new role, Ripton will be part of the global marine management team. He will be responsible for leading the global marine broking strategy including facility development and panels.

Additionally, he will be accountable for ensuring the enhanced use of data and analytics for the benefit of the group’s global marine client base.

He will report to Ben Abraham, global head of marine, along with Philip Smaje, global head of broking.
