Vantage Group has appointed Jim Gunson as chief claims officer for its insurance operations.  

Gunson will oversee claims strategy and operations.  

He will also lead initiatives by leveraging his data and technology expertise, while promoting collaboration across departments to support brokers and clients. 

Before his stint at Vantage, Gunson held positions at several insurance companies, where he directed claims strategies to improve service delivery, managed complex claims portfolios and pursued operational improvements. 

Gunson stated: “I am thrilled to join Vantage and contribute to its mission of delivering innovative claims solutions. I look forward to working with the talented team to ensure our claims organisation remains a trusted partner to our clients.” 

Gunson will report to Alex Blanco, CEO of Insurance.

Vantage Group, which began operations in late 2020, offers specialty insurance and reinsurance services to brokers, clients and investors.  

Its operations span ten specialty insurance sectors: casualty, construction, cyber and E&O, financial lines, healthcare, management liability, large property, and political risk and credit in the US, alongside casualty and financial and professional lines in Bermuda. 

The group includes operating subsidiaries such as Vantage Risk, Vantage Risk Assurance Company and Vantage Risk Specialty Insurance Company.
