Tokio Marine Holdings has entered into a strategic collaboration with OpenAI to incorporate generative AI (genAI) technologies into its operations.

This initiative aims to enhance productivity and improve customer experience by integrating AI into various areas including contracts, inquiries and document processing.

Large language models (LLMs) offer high-precision responses in language tasks, making them a starting point for business transformation. Tokio Marine plans to integrate genAI into its business infrastructure, enhancing customer proposals and insurance operations. The collaboration with OpenAI is stated to be crucial to achieving these objectives.

OpenAI specialises in genAI based on LLMs like ChatGPT Enterprise and GPT-5. Tokio Marine aims to advance business processes using these AI models, receiving strategic support from OpenAI. AI will be used to automate data processing and routine tasks, providing personalised customer experiences.

The initial phase includes using ChatGPT’s deep research capabilities at Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance to gather local information and demographics. This will enable sales departments to offer proposals tailored to customer needs and challenges.

Insights from each group company will be shared across the organisation, standardising technology and improving efficiency.
