In his new role, Madge will be responsible for the corporate oversight of actuarial practices enterprise-wide and providing leadership, direction and vision for our actuarial community globally.

Madge joined Clarica in 1986, which became part of Sun Life in 2002, and held actuarial as well as product development and business line roles in Sun Life’s Canadian business prior to his appointment as chief actuary for Sun Life Financial Canada in 2005.

In 2010, Madge became senior vice-president and chief actuary for Sun Life Financial US. He was then appointed as senior vice-president and CFO for Sun Life Financial US in 2011.

Sun Life Financial EVP and chief risk officer, Claude Accum, said: "Madge has been instrumental in helping to manage and improve the risk profile of Sun Life’s US businesses and to plan Sun Life’s US strategy. This will position him well as he broadens his area of responsibility to Sun Life’s businesses worldwide."
