Sompo Global Risks Solutions (GRS) has formed a new team to provide solutions to smaller businesses in the US and Mexico, including its industry vertical and Asian interest accounts.

Sompo GRS operates as a unit of Sompo International, a Bermuda-based property and casualty (P&C) re/insurer.

Sompo said that the establishment of GRS Small Business team has boosted its risk appetite to include smaller companies in the real estate, hospitality, financial institutions, professional services and life sciences industries.

The GRS Small Business team will provide a complete range of coverages such as package, property, auto, general liability, workers’ compensation, umbrella and environmental.

Sompo GRS senior vice president, middle market leader Matt Burns will assume the additional charge to oversee the operations of small business team.

Marnie Shore, vice president, will spearhead the development of the Sompo GRS Small Business platform. She will also co-lead the team’s distribution efforts along with Roberto Robles, vice president, business development.
