US-based Relation Insurance Services has acquired the assets of Thorn Creek Insurance Services, with the transaction effective from 31 January 2026.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Founded in 2011 by Troy Alexander, Thorn Creek Insurance Services is headquartered in Springfield, Illinois.

The company operates in the property and casualty market, specialising in farm, business, livestock and commercial agriculture coverage.

It also offers insurance solutions spanning auto, home, life, pet business risks, pollution legal liability and trucking, serving clients across the US.

Alexander said: “Joining the Relation team just made sense. Our expertise, our culture, our goals for growth… they all aligned with Relation. Our clients will benefit greatly from the expanded resources we can now offer and our team is excited to help Relation continue their success.”

Relation Insurance Services is a US insurance brokerage providing risk management and employee benefits consulting services.

The company employs around 1,350 people across more than 100 locations nationwide and is backed by Aquiline Capital Partners, a private equity firm headquartered in New York and London that invests in financial services and technology businesses.

In August 2025, Relation Insurance Services acquired the assets of Bridlewood Insurance Services, a Medicare-focused agency based in San Diego, California.

Bridlewood had operated primarily on the US west coast and in several urban centres nationwide.

Following that transaction, founder, president and CEO Jeff Wetzel retained management oversight of the San Diego office.
