Hartford Steam Boiler (HSB), part of Munich Re, has launched a personal cyber coverage aimed at social media influencers.

The new offering comes with HSB Home Cyber Protection Insurance to provide cover from cyber threats.

It is part of HSB’s expanded coverage solution for social media and comes with a cybersecurity app.

The app is said to offer anti-malware and ad blocking support and claims to allow users to monitor the “dark web” and bank accounts for cyber threats.

Social media income interruption coverage can be triggered when the customers are unable to access their accounts due to a cyberattack.

HSB Home Cyber Protection offers coverage for cyber-attacks, online fraud, cyber extortion, identity recovery, and home title fraud, involving computers, smartphones, and home systems.

Its optional coverages include data breaches and cyberbullying.

HSB assistant vice president James Hajjar said: “Social influencers want attention, but not from cybercriminals. Hackers and other digital predators target social media. We’re filling the coverage gaps with insurance that follows customers with the protection they need.”

Additionally, the cover enables access to Clario, a cybersecurity app and monitoring services from security firm, Kroll.

HSB is offering HSB Home Cyber Protection through its partner insurance carriers.

Earlier this year, HSB launched Precision Ag insurance, which addresses the risks associated with modern farms, agricultural data, technology, and farming equipment.

Last month, Munich Re-backed High Definition Vehicle Insurance (HDVI) Group has raised $32.5m in a Series B funding round.
