MNK International Brazil will sit within MNK Group, which is based in London.

Through the group, the Brazilian unit will be able to draw on a wider international network that includes managing general agents and other risk-bearing businesses operating in several jurisdictions.

The company said the office will assist Brazilian clients looking to access global and specialist insurance capacity, as well as multinational organisations with operations in the country.

MNK International CEO Naman Kumar said: “As we continue our rapid growth in Latin America, expanding into Brazil is a natural next step for MNK International.

“MNK International Brazil will strengthen how we support international clients with interests in Brazil and help Brazilian clients access the very best solutions worldwide.”

MNK International said the brokerage will provide insurance and reinsurance solutions and will be led by CEO Sergio Clark and international director Alexandre Dabus.

Both executives bring experience across Brazil, the wider Latin American region and international markets, particularly relating to global programmes and multinational clients.

Clark has more than 50 years’ experience in brokerage leadership and has previously founded and scaled brokerage operations including a joint venture with JLT that was later sold to Marsh.

Dabus has worked on multinational client portfolios for Gallagher’s Brazilian partner and Marsh, and later joined Clark at a specialist start-up brokerage.

Clark added: “Brazil is a demanding market that values experience, relationships and consistency, and so our goal is to build a focused and efficient business from day one. We are ready to prioritise new and emerging opportunities in the market, drawing on our capability and extensive networks to deliver innovative solutions that meet the needs of our clients.”

The Brazil launch follows MNK International’s expansion in October, when it broadened its international presence through the acquisition of a brokerage in Türkiye.

The Istanbul operation focuses on insurance and reinsurance for specialty and complex risks and serves local clients across engineering, financial lines, aviation and property.
