John Hancock has rolled out a new life insurance solution devised for Americans living with diabetes.

The solution, dubbed John Hancock Aspire, was rolled out in partnership with Verily and Onduo.

With the new offering, John Hancock aims to cater to the diabetic patients who don’t have or have limited life insurance coverage.

Besides life insurance protection, John Hancock Aspire will offer the customers with access to a support programme involving health coaching and rewards.

The customers can also access an enhanced version ‘John Hancock Aspire with Vitality’ that will encourage and reward them for leading healthier life.

Furthermore, eligible John Hancock Aspire customers with type 2 diabetes will receive a blood glucose monitoring device from Onduo’s virtual clinic.

John Hancock Insurance president and CEO Brooks Tingle said: “The life insurance industry hasn’t traditionally served people living with diabetes well, when actually, we’re among the most uniquely positioned to help improve their health outcomes because our customer relationships often last a lifetime.

“At John Hancock, we believe in helping customers live longer, healthier lives, whether they’re living with a chronic condition like diabetes, or not.

“When we help customers manage their diabetes by providing virtual care, education, support, incentives and rewards, we’re not only creating value for them, but also for our industry and society as a whole.”
