US-based insurance brokerage Inszone Insurance Services has further bolstered its domestic footprint with the acquisition of independent insurance agency First West Insurance Agency.

Financial terms of the deal were undisclosed.

This move marks a significant expansion of Inszone’s presence in California, with enhanced service capabilities for clients in the Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley areas.

First West Insurance Agency, originally known as Shearer Insurance, was founded in 1968. The business merged with First West Insurance Agency in 1979, taking on the name and broadening its service potential.

The agency focuses on personal lines insurance.

Phil Shearer, who joined the agency in 1983, as well as Kristen Shearer, who has managed accounting since 1998, will be onboard for a brief time to assist with the transition before retiring, ensuring continuity for clients and the team.

The existing team at First West Insurance Agency will continue operating from Inszone’s Huntington Beach office, with access to a wider array of carriers and enhanced support.

Inszone Insurance Services CEO Chris Walters said: “Phil and Kristen Shearer have fostered a culture of advocacy and personalised service that aligns perfectly with Inszone’s values.

“We are excited to integrate First West’s operations and continue providing outstanding service to their clients with the added resources and support of Inszone.”

In June 2024, Inszone bought compatriot Welcome Insurance Agency for an undisclosed amount.

Set up in 2008, Welcome Insurance Agency delivers insurance solutions for gas stations, religious institutions, restaurants and automotive shops.
