Sommelier Insurance Group was established in September 2020 by Luper Akough and serves clients in the Omaha area.
The business focuses on trucking, home healthcare and contractor cover, and sought a partner to support its next phase of expansion.
Akough said: “We reached a point where we wanted to provide our clients with access to more carriers, more support and more resources.
“As we looked toward the next phase of our growth, we realised we needed a partner with a national platform that could help us scale our specialised offerings. Inszone was the natural fit.”
After the deal, Sommelier Insurance Group’s staff will continue operating with a local base and sector focus, while also using Inszone’s carrier relationships and back office infrastructure.
Inszone CEO Chris Walters commented: “Luper has built a fantastic agency in Omaha with a strong track record in highly specialised commercial niches.
“Their focus on trucking, home healthcare and contractors perfectly complements our national strategy. We are excited to provide the Sommelier team with the expanded resources they need to accelerate their growth and continue delivering exceptional service.”
Last month, Inszone bought Smith & Company Insurance, an agency in Arkansas, as part of its broader expansion across the US.
Smith & Company Insurance traces its origins to 1904.
The Smith family acquired the company in 1971 and remained involved in its development in the years that followed. The Arkansas business developed a specialist aviation division and also built operations in commercial agriculture. It has also provided insurance policies for a number of banks in the region.
