German insurtech Getsafe has teamed up with British price aggregator GoCompare to further expand its UK presence.

The tie-up with GoCompare will enable the insurtech to make its app-based insurance more accessible to the UK market.

In addition, it will also allow Gatsafe to offer increased flexibility to its customers by offering more transparent and user-oriented services.

The firm said that one third of Brits want to take out insurance fully digital because of the Covid-19 outbreak.

The increasing interest in digital insurance and flexible insurance contracts is independent of age or gender, it added.

Getsafe CEO and founder Christian Wiens said: “The UK is a very important but also a very competitive market. Innovation is what will make us stand out, and that’s what we’re all about.

“In the 20-35 age group, there is a huge demand for a digital experience for financial services. Despite this, there aren’t many providers that offer this. By working with GoCompare, we want to close this gap in the market.”

Getsafe currently offers home contents coverage in Germany and the UK, with several additional protection products sold in its home nation.

In January this year, Getsafe made its entry into the UK, with plans to expand its footprint across European markets.

However, its European expansion was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In June this year, the firm partnered with UK insurance comparison platform Quotezone, which generates millions of quotes for partners each year.
