The integration is set to improve the platform’s capabilities in providing real-time flood risk analysis and reporting prior, during and after flood events.

With access to ICEYE’s data through this risk management platform, banks, insurers, real estate managers and corporations globally will be able to precisely evaluate and measure the impacts of the floods, supporting informed and quick decision-making.

Beginning in January 2026, ICEYE’s Flood Archive and Flood Early Warning solutions will be accessible through the Events feature of the Location Risk Intelligence Platform.

This feature allows users to monitor historical as well as ongoing events using a mix of public domain and vendor-supplied data.

ICEYE said that it will become the first commercial provider to deliver “precise event data” to the Munich Re platform, offering customers instant access to severity forecasts and promptly delivered measurements of the extent and depth of the flood hazards. Further ICEYE offerings such as Flood Rapid Impact, Flood Insights, Wildfire Insights and Hurricane Rapid Impact will also be available for resale by Munich Re to its global customer base.

The alliance is also said to create a scalable model for incorporating data-driven hazard and damage analysis into event response services around the world.

Head of Risk Management Partners at Munich Re Christof Reinert said: “Natural catastrophes are becoming more frequent and severe. Businesses need scalable solutions to manage these risks before, during and after disaster events strike.

“By integrating ICEYE into the platform, we provide even more comprehensive insights into natural risk disaster exposure. The flood event data is a substantial feature that can even improve our Location Risk Intelligence offering. This gives our customers a decisive advantage, enabling active risk management to safeguard investments and operations, while also strengthening resilience.”

ICEYE head of Re/Insurance Practice Anke Sielker said: “At ICEYE, innovation is at the heart of what we do. Integrating our flood intelligence into Location Risk Intelligence, Munich Re’s powerful analytics platform, represents a major step forward in how leading-edge data and technology can be combined to enable insurers and businesses to better understand and manage the rapidly evolving flood risk landscape.”

ICEYE previously launched a hurricane data solution aimed at helping insurers evaluate the effects of weather events in the US.
