UK-based Hyperion Insurance Group has named Mark Craig as its new group CFO, and Mark Hudson as its new group finance director.

Bothe the appointments, the company said, are effective from January 2020.

Craig, who joined the company in 2017, is presently head of investments and debt capital markets, responsible for the company’s investment programme.

He will become a member of the company’s Group Executive Committee and its Board of Directors once he assumes the new role.

Hudson, who has more than 25 years of general insurance experience, joined as CFO of Hyperion’s underwriting business DUAL in 2016.

Even after he assumes the new role, Hudson will retain his current responsibilities, the company said.

Hudson previously held the position of director of finance and operations at Novae Group.

Richard Houghton, the interim group CFO, will leave Hyperion later this year after handing over all responsibilities to Craig and Hudson.

Hyperion CEO David Howden commented: “As we look to the next 25 years, Mark and Mark are well placed to support us in our next stage of growth. Hyperion is a People First organisation and these promotions are a testament to the strength of the talent we have within the Group and the bench strength of our finance team.”

Howden added: “I am incredibly grateful to Richard for the support he has provided over the course of the last year. We wish him all the best for the future.”
