
Specialty insurer HDI Global has appointed François Périquet as its new global head of engineering, effective 1 February 2025.
He takes over from Dieter Spaar, who is set to retire.
Périquet will directly report to Dirk Höring, a member of the executive board at HDI Global with responsibilities that include property, energy, engineering, marine and HDI Risk Consulting.
With more than 20 years of experience, his most recent position was at Zurich Insurance Company in Dubai, where he served as underwriting manager for energy in the Middle East, Africa and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
Périquet’s background includes contributions as a risk engineer and he has in-depth knowledge in the underwriting sectors of property, engineering and energy insurance.
His new responsibilities at HDI Global will encompass overseeing engineering underwriting.

The international team operates across 29 locations and caters to more than 100 risk countries, managing international programmes and international facultative business.

Last month, HDI Global appointed Stefan Pasternak as chief financial officer (CFO), effective 1 April 2025.
Meanwhile, Christian Hermelingmeier, who is presently serving as the CFO of HDI Global SE, will transition to the position of CFO at Hannover Re, also starting on 1 April 2025.
