Generali has announced the appointment of Giulio Terzariol as director generale – group deputy CEO, marking a shift in its executive structure.
The change is part of the company’s focus on its Lifetime Partner 27: Driving Excellence strategy and to enhance governance across its main business areas.

Terzariol will oversee Generali’s insurance operations and Banca Generali, working in coordination with the group CEO.
His appointment is contingent on approval following the standard fit and proper assessment by Italian insurance regulator IVASS.
Since January 2024, Terzariol has been serving as CEO Insurance at Generali. Once he assumes his new tasks, this position will be phased out.
Before joining Generali, he had a long career at Allianz, where he worked from 1998 to 2023.

By GlobalDataHis roles at Allianz included group chief financial officer (CFO) for six years and head of group planning and controlling from 2016 to 2017, where he managed group-wide performance.
He was also CFO of Allianz Life USA, starting in 2008, and served as regional CFO for Allianz Asia-Pacific during a posting in Singapore from 2005 to 2007.
Terzariol began his career in insurance at Generali in 1995 as an international trainee, spending time in Munich and Vienna.
