Generali Asia has appointed Dr Hak Hong Soo as the regional head of health, Asia. Soo will report directly to Roberto Leonardi, regional officer for Asia.

Based in the regional hub in Hong Kong, Soo will be responsible for strengthening Generali’s Health business in the market and accelerating its leadership presence in Asia.

He has over 20 years of experience in both direct insurance and reinsurance in Asia, with diverse regional exposure especially in Greater China, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia.

He has strong actuarial and management expertise in life and health product development, actuarial pricing, product strategy and health business management.

Prior to joining Generali, Soo was with Munich Re in various senior management positions in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore. Before that, he also held senior actuarial positions in direct insurance companies including serving as the chief actuary of PT AJ Sequis Life in Indonesia.
