Finding their way through a
plethora of health insurance products has just become a lot easier
for Australians, with the launch by the Office of the Private
Health Insurance Ombudsman of a new website. The online service
enables consumers to make a comparison between some of the 22,000
private health insurance products on offer, ombudsman Samantha
Gavel said in a statement.

“The key to better outcomes
in private health insurance for consumers and insurers is greater
awareness and better access to information,” said Gavel in the
statement.

According to a recent report
by the Australian Private Health Insurance Administration Council,
more than 10m Australians are covered by private health insurance.
Australia boasts 37 private health insurers.
