Established in November 2013, the bank has already partnered with New India Assurance to deliver health and life insurance policies for women account holders.

Currently, BMB is in discussions with 7-8 life insurance companies to develop some women-centric products.

Chairman and MD of the bank Usha Ananthasubramanian said that bank is now having 23 branches at present, and is planning to set up 50-60 more branches by the end of this year.

She added that the bank was aiming to disburse a total of INR800-crore loans in this financial year.

Ananthasubramanian said: "We will be focussing on financing women-related activity in different sectors. We will also promote SHGs (self-help groups) involved in homogeneous activities."
