Specialist insurer Beazley has entered into a strategic alliance with Vizient Insurance Services, a subsidiary of Vizient, to launch active shooter coverage.

The new offering is available immediately to Vizient members.

In addition to insurance coverage to indemnify covered losses, the policy also includes prevention and crisis management services.

The coverage is designed to help reduce the likelihood of an incident.It offers risk assessments and educational tools to help clients enhance security and resilience to an incident.

In the event of an incident, Beazley will provide customers with crisis response services such as security, investigation into the cause of the incident and assistance with managing crisis communications.

Beazley terrorism and political violence underwriting Chris Parker said: “As incidents involving deadly weapons are all too frequent in the United States, organisations need to be prepared in case the worst does happen.
