British life insurer Aviva has named Erica Arnold as its new COO. She will join the company early next year.

In her new role, Arnold will report to Maurice Tulloch, CEO of Aviva. She will also join the Aviva Leadership Team.

She will oversee the operations, customer strategy and IT operations across the group.

Prior to accepting the new role, Arnold worked as chief group enterprise services officer of insurer Zurich Insurance.

Before that, she worked with AIG for more than six years and held various management positions.

Commenting on the appointment, Tulloch said: “Two key themes are critical to Aviva’s success: focusing on the fundamentals of insurance and delivering a great customer experience.

Aviva has also promoted Nick Amin from group chief operations and IT officer to support the strategic review work in Asia.
