Aston Lark, a chartered insurance broker backed by Goldman Sachs, has acquired Balbriggan-based North County Brokers for an unknown sum.

Founded in 1999, North County Brokers provides independent advice to businesses across a spectrum of insurance and risk management services.

It specialises in a number of sectors including manufacturing, technology and communications, import and distribution, as well as motor trade.

The company will initially be added to the Aston Lark Group under Robertson Low. It will temporarily operate as Robertson Low and Wright Insurance Brokers and will be rebranded as Aston Lark Ireland next month.

Aston Lark Ireland CEO Robert Kennedy said: “This is the start of an exciting journey for Aston Lark in Ireland as we rebrand next month. With further deal announcements imminent, we are on track to realise our ambition of becoming Ireland’s leading independent insurance broker.”

The deal followed the acquisition of inet3, and Scotland based Bruce Stevenson Insurance Brokers earlier this year.
