AI-driven firm Arturo has released an on-demand, web-based underwriting and claims solution to offer better workflows for insurance carriers.

Dubbed Arbiter, the new offering is designed to help insurance professionals get accurate property reports. The aim is to streamline property underwriting and claims by lowering claims processing time and costs.

Arbiter taps Arturo’s AI, multi-source imagery, and configurable APIs to evaluate the damage from an event such as a natural disaster.

This in turn, can help insurer issue disbursements more rapidly and utilise human resources in a better way to process claims, noted Arturo.

The new solution leverages Arturo’s deep learning spatial models to automatically draw out unique property characteristics for insurance professionals.

This is done by referencing both existing as well as historical aerial imagery of residential and commercial properties.

Arbiter is said to benefit from Arturo’s alliances with satellite, stratospheric, aerial and street-level imagery providers.

This helps the solution offer property insights in seconds, aiding understanding of preconditions and triage catastrophic events, stated Arturo.

Arturo CEO John-Isaac “jC” Clark said: “Gaining deep insight into a property’s physical performance has always been important, but with catastrophic weather events increasing — last year, the U.S. was hit with a series of record-breaking climate events — the need for this intelligence has become particularly acute.

“When disaster strikes, insurance carriers and homeowners both benefit from having the most accurate and up-to-date property information available.”

A deep learning spin-out from American Family Insurance, Arturo’s deep learning models is said to offer differentiated property data in nearly five seconds.

Last month, Arturo received $25m in a Series B funding round led by Atlantic Bridge Capital. RPS Ventures and existing backers Crosslink Capital and IAG Firemark Ventures also joined the round.
