UK-based insurance broker Aon has merged its construction & engineering and inland marine teams into a single dedicated global unit within its reinsurance solutions operation.

The move is part of the company’startegy to boost growth opportunities.

Named the Global Construction & Inland Marine practice group, the new unit will further enable Aon to properly resource the business and capitalise on best practices.

The new division will be led by Jonathan Conway, who earlier worked for Gen Re for more than 20 years.

Before joining Aon in 2019, Conway worked at Willis in the UK property team from 2014 to 2018.

Aon UK reinsurance solutions business CEO Nick Frankland said: “This initiative is about bringing the best of our experts together to deliver enhanced revenue growth and service to clients in the Construction & Engineering and Inland Marine specialist sectors through a single, integrated practice group that supports account executives globally.
