Aon has named Helene Madell as its new chief broking officer for commercial risk solutions, health solutions, and affinity in the UK.

Currently, Madell is holding the same role in the Pacific region and will now take over the UK operations.

The appointment will become effective on 6 April this year and Madell will report to Aon UK CEO Julie Page.

Page said: “I’m delighted that Helene will be joining us in the UK.

“Her record of delivering success in Australia, combined with her experience of the London market, will be key as we continue to drive a broking proposition that provides clients with unique access to the market and solutions.”

Madell has more than 25 years of broking experience in London and Australia.

Before joining Aon two years ago, Madell had worked at Willis Towers Watson for 13 years.

Madell said: “In this changing market environment, I believe there is great opportunity to work with our carrier partners to deliver innovative solutions for our clients.”

In the new role, Madell will work alongside Laurence White, who is set to become the chairman of UK broking for commercial risk on a part-time basis.

White has been involved with Aon for over three decades, and has served as chief broking officer for the last eight years.
