US-based insurer ALKEME Insurance has expanded nationally by purchasing Sheets Forrest Draper Insurance (SFDI), an independent agency headquartered in Marion, Iowa. 

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. 

This move is part of ALKEME’s strategy to expand its operations in the Midwest and collaborate with regionally focused agencies to enhance services for customers. 

Established in 1902, SFDI has been providing insurance solutions to individuals and businesses in Marion, Cedar Rapids, Hiawatha and Iowa City.  

The agency, led by Scott Stephens as president and Spencer Stephens as vice-president, offers a range of products including auto, home, business and specialty insurance.

In April, ALKEME appointed Jesse Dantice as the president of its east region. Dantice brings more than 27 years of experience to the role and will be responsible for overseeing operations and growth in the eastern US. 

Since its inception in 2020, ALKEME has completed over 70 acquisitions and established a presence in 29 states with more than 60 sites.  

The full-service insurance agency offers commercial and personal insurance products, as well as employee and executive benefits, retirement and wealth management services.
