Ageas Protect, formerly Fortis Life, has
launched an educational platform to help protection intermediaries
understand the impact that major legislation will have on customers
towards the end of 2012.

The educational platform consists of a series
of emails and a dedicated area on the company’s website.

The technical area explains how the EC
gender directive will affect female customers interested in buying
life cover, or life cover with critical illness products in the
run-up to the introduction of gender neutral pricing and products
on and after 21 December 2012.

It will also explain how it will impact male
customers seeking to buy income protection cover.

Alongside the information on the gender
directive, Ageas Protect’s educational platform also aims to
improve awareness of the removal of the ‘I-E’ tax regime due on 1
January 2013.

Andy Milburn, head of marketing, at Ageas
Protect, said: “Protection intermediaries need to be aware of the
bigger picture in the final months of 2012.”
