Government of Guam has selected Aetna International as the health insurance provider starting October this year.
The company’s health insurance will cover government employees and retired employees along with their family members.
According to an estimate, the government spent $76.3m in 2017 for health insurance. The current plan details were not revealed.
Guam Governor Lou Leon Guerrero said: “I thank the Health Negotiating Team for its work in selecting, amongst all the bidders, the most economical and beneficial healthcare insurance proposal plan.
“For several reasons, the Team was limited in time to conduct its negotiations. Even so, it was able to perform all of its duties and provide me with a quality insurance plan to consider.”
Calvo’s SelectCare, which was the health insurance provider since 2001, has been intimated about the change in insurance provider.
