The industry’s overall hiring increased by 0.09% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.
Out of the insurance industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 9.89% share in October 2021, recording an increase of 0.1% over the last three-month average share.

By GlobalData1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 52.06% in October 2021, registering a 7.92% decline over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 16.74% share, a decrease of 6.55% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 13.96%, registering a 38.11% rise from September 2021.
4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 12.54%, up 18.6% over the previous month.
Top five insurance companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 23.25% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s insurance industry during October 2021 over September 2021.
UnitedHealth Group posted 540 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a drop of 18.92% over the previous month, followed by Anthem with 493 jobs and a 53.58% growth. Centene with 459 IT jobs and The Allstate with 127 jobs, recorded a 190.51% flat growth and an 11.4% flat growth, respectively, while USAA recorded a decline of 25.18% with 104 job postings during October 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.75%, up by 0.99% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 24.04% share, registered a decline of 8.62% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 16.72% share, up 18.83% over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.49%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
