The industry’s overall hiring increased by 0.77% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.
Out of the insurance industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 9.4% share in September 2021, recording a decrease of 0.32% over the last three-month average share.

By GlobalData1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 55.21% in September 2021, registering a 4.12% decline over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed an 18.64% share, a decrease of 15.63% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 10.93%, registering a 15.74% decline from August 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 10.69%, down 0.84% over the previous month.
Top five insurance companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 4.05% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s insurance industry during September 2021 over August 2021.
UnitedHealth Group posted 547 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a rise of 8.1% over the previous month, followed by Anthem with 318 jobs and an 11.91% drop. Dai-ichi Life Holdings with 191 IT jobs and USAA with 137 jobs, recorded a 14.73% decline and a 13.29% decrease, respectively, while Markel recorded a flat growth with 133 job postings during September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.87%, down by 12.42% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 26.72% share, registered a decline of 7.29% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 13.39% share, up 10.95% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.02%, recording a month-on-month increase of 36%.
