The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 7.31% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.

Out of the insurance industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 14.08% share in September 2021, recording an increase of 0.32% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 45.11% in September 2021, registering a 37.59% decline over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 26.63% share, an increase of 11.36% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 16.85%, registering a 34.04% decline from August 2021.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 5.98%, up 22.22% over the previous month.

Top five insurance companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 8.45% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s insurance industry during September 2021 over August 2021.

Willis Towers Watson posted 22 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a drop of 42.11% over the previous month, followed by Zurich Insurance Group with 16 jobs and a 5.88% drop. Aegon UK with 15 IT jobs and Aviva with 13 jobs, recorded a 275% flat growth and an 116.67% flat growth, respectively, while Hiscox recorded an increase of 83.33% with 11 job postings during September 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 78.26%, down by 30.77% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 14.13% share, registered an increase of 23.81% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.07% share, down 7.14% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.54%, recording a month-on-month decline of 66.67%.
