The UK’s insurance industry registered a 2.8% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 2.61% in November 2021 when compared with October 2021.
Out of the insurance industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 12.96% share in November 2021, recording a decrease of 0.89% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the UK’s insurance industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100.96% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s insurance industry in November 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 50.96% in November 2021, registering a 22.63% decline over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 21.15% share, a decrease of 13.73% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 18.75%, registering a 34.48% rise from October 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 5.29%, up 10% over the previous month.
Top five insurance companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 1.14% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s insurance industry during November 2021 over October 2021.
BGL Group posted 25 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a rise of 150% over the previous month, followed by Willis Towers Watson with 21 jobs and a 47.5% drop. Aviva with 16 IT jobs and Zurich Insurance Group with 14 jobs, recorded a 100% growth and a 22.22% decrease, respectively, while Dai-ichi Life Holdings recorded an increase of 8.33% with 13 job postings during November 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 79.33%, down by 14.51% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 14.9% share, registered a decline of 13.89% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 5.77% share, down 29.41% over October 2021.
