The industry’s overall hiring increased by 33.16% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.
Out of the insurance industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 71.98% share in September 2021, recording a decrease of 2.17% over the last three-month average share.

By GlobalData1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 81.25% in September 2021, registering a 100% flat growth over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 9.38% share, a flat growth over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Research Scientists held a share of 4.69%, registering a 200% rise from August 2021.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 4.69%, up 50% over the previous month.
Top five insurance companies in Sri Lanka’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average flat growth share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Sri Lanka’s insurance industry during September 2021 over August 2021.
Intercorp Financial Services posted 63 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a rise of 117.24% over the previous month, followed by AIA Group with 1 job and a flat growth. .
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 46.88%, up by 130.77% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 37.5% share, registered an increase of 71.43% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 14.06% share, up 350% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.56%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
