September 2021 has seen a decrease of 14.29% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 12.01% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2021, registering an increase of 1.6% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 43.33% in September 2021, a 38.1% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 16.67% in September 2021, marking a 66.67% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 13.33% in September 2021, a flat growth from August 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 18.75% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s insurance industry during September 2021 over previous month.

Willis Towers Watson posted 12 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered an increase of 9.09% over the previous month, followed by AIA Group with 4 jobs and a flat growth. Swiss Re with 4 IT jobs and Porto Seguro with 4 jobs, recorded a 20% drop and a 63.64% drop, respectively, while Samsung Life Insurance recorded a 60% decline with 2 job postings during September 2021.

Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s insurance industry IT hiring activity with a 40% share in September 2021, a 42.86% decrease over August 2021. Peru featured next with a 30% share, down 10% over the previous month. Anguilla recorded a 13.33% share, a flat growth compared with August 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 83.33%, down by 19.35% from August 2021. Entry Level positions with a 10% share, registered a decline of 25% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 6.67% share, flat growth over August 2021.
