South & Central America’s insurance industry IT hiring activity rises 0.6% in April 2022

South & Central America witnessed a 0.6% rise in IT hiring activity in the insurance industry in April 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.

April 2022 has seen an increase of 8.4% in the overall hiring activity when compared with March 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 10.21% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in April 2022, registering a decrease of 1.74% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in April 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 61.11% in April 2022, a 10.81% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 27.78% in April 2022, marking an 11.76% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 5.56% in April 2022, a 50% drop from March 2022.

Computer Support Specialists registered a share of 3.7% in April 2022, a flat growth over the previous month.

Top five insurance companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 14.52% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s insurance industry during April 2022 over previous month.

AIA Group posted 32 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered a decline of 3.03% over the previous month, followed by Sagicor Group Jamaica with 9 jobs and a 25% drop. Willis Towers Watson with 6 IT jobs and Samsung Life Insurance with 5 jobs, recorded a 45.45% drop and a 16.67% drop, respectively, while RSA Insurance Group recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during April 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s insurance industry

Anguilla commanded a leading presence in the region’s insurance industry IT hiring activity with a 59.26% share in April 2022, a 3.03% decrease over March 2022. Jamaica featured next with a 16.67% share, down 25% over the previous month. Brazil recorded a 9.26% share, a drop of 16.67% compared with March 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 42.59%, down by 28.13% from March 2022. Mid Level positions with a 29.63% share, registered a growth of 6.67% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 25.93% share, down 17.65% over March 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.85%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
