March 2022 has seen an increase of 6.72% in the overall hiring activity when compared with February 2022.

IT jobs accounted for an 11.47% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in March 2022, registering a decrease of 1.71% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in March 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 56.45% in March 2022, an 18.6% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 24.19% in March 2022, marking a 200% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 11.29% in March 2022, a flat growth from February 2022.

Top five insurance companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 9.72% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s insurance industry during March 2022 over previous month.

AIA Group posted 28 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a decline of 12.5% over the previous month, followed by Sagicor Group Jamaica with 11 jobs and a 266.67% growth. Willis Towers Watson with 9 IT jobs, recorded a 25% drop, while Porto Seguro recorded a 38.46% decline with 8 job postings during March 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s insurance industry

Anguilla commanded a leading presence in the region’s insurance industry IT hiring activity with a 45.16% share in March 2022, a 12.5% decrease over February 2022. Jamaica featured next with a 17.74% share, up 266.67% over the previous month. Brazil recorded a 17.74% share, a drop of 35.29% compared with February 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.45%, down by 18.6% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 22.58% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 20.97% share, up 62.5% over February 2022.
