November 2021 has seen an increase of 9.58% in the overall hiring activity when compared with October 2021.

IT jobs accounted for an 8.59% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2021, registering a decrease of 1.46% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 50.33% in November 2021, a 5.56% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 29.8% in November 2021, marking a 9.76% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 9.27% in November 2021, a 39.13% drop from October 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 6.83% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s insurance industry during November 2021 over previous month.

Sanlam posted 96 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a decline of 4% over the previous month, followed by Discovery with 36 jobs and a 23.4% drop. Old Mutual with 16 IT jobs and Munchener Ruckversicherungs-Gesellschaft(Munich Re) with 1 jobs, recorded a 14.29% rise and a flat growth, respectively, while Allianz recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during November 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s insurance industry

South Africa commanded a leading presence in the region’s insurance industry IT hiring activity with a 93.38% share in November 2021, an 11.88% decrease over October 2021. Zimbabwe featured next with a 1.99% share, up 200% over the previous month. Namibia recorded a 1.32% share, a flat growth compared with October 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 67.55%, up by 10.87% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 20.53% share, registered a decline of 38% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.92% share, down 14.29% over October 2021.
